A VERY Special Day.....

I have been a little busy lately and I have been meaning to sit down and write about the Special Olympics......what a great day this was! Other than being a little warm for my tastes, it was a
PYR-fect day.

My very own nephew and niece were competing and they did quite well in their events! And many more children won medals that they were VERY proud to wear.

The little girl in the picture with me has been blind since birth and she is just a real cutie! She felt my coat all over and declared that I felt like a cloud.....There were so many wonderful children here that there was not quite enough of me to go around! Many of them wanted their picture taken with me.... some wanted to just put their arms around me and hug me....some of them were bent and determined to kiss me in the face...which is NOT my favorite thing...but I went along with it....

They were literally all over me and I finally had to be taken out of the area so I could get in the air conditioning and cool off.

This event is such a gift and if you have never been to a Special Olympics, you should try to find out when one is coming to a place near you and go......

You will not be sorry.......I promise.

These children are all CHAMPIONS!
